Dinner at the Harbour house V & A waterfront

Perhaps you’d prefer to dine at the hotel’s Signal restaurant, renowned for its fresh and innovative local cuisine. Alternatively, we can arrange dinner at the Harbour House V&A Waterfront, just a short stroll away.

Table Mountain

After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, you’ll set of for iconic Table Mountain. The adventurous will be keen to hike up the well-marked trail and abseil back to the city. For those who prefer to take things at a steadier pace, ascending in the spacious gondola boasting spectacular 360° panoramic views is the way to go. The afternoon’s schedule is fluid.

Lunch at Mzansi

After lunch at Mzansi, an Afro-Western family owned restaurant, there’ll be free time before tea at the hotel.

Dinner at Pigalle Seafood Restaurant

For dinner tonight, we suggest the excellent Pigalle Seafood Restaurant.

Shark cage diving

Cape Town’s spectacular maritime setting will be the focus of this morning’s sightseeing programme, as you’ll have the opportunity to try out shark cage diving . If that’s not to your liking, then a lazy morning at Smitswinkelbaai Beach will be just the ticket. In this secluded bay, turquoise waters lap pristine white sands.

Lunch at Pot Luck club

Lunch will be taken at the Pot Luck Club, after which a gentle stroll around Woodstock will enable you to explore the area’s vibrant art scene.

Galileo Open Air Cinema

After dinner, why not catch a movie under the stars at the Galileo Open Air cinema?

Day 4

Robben Island

This morning, you’ll visit one of the most important sites in the city: Robben Island, a haunting place where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for much of his adult life. We’ll travel by helicopter, enabling you to appreciate Cape Town’s majestic setting. After our guided tour, we’ll return to the city to explore its essential sights.

Drive to Constantia

After a late check out, there’ll be plenty of time to relax or pick up a souvenir of your stay before our chauffeur will take you to the Last Word Constantia Hotel. It’s located in the affluent suburb of Constantia, considered to be one of the most prestigious residential areas in Cape Town.

Hike through the Green Belt trails

From our new base, we’d recommend you go for a hike to explore the Constantia Green Belt trails. With nine separate walks to choose from, there’s something for everyone. You’ll walk alongside trickling streams, past Cape Dutch homesteads and through shady forests. This is wine country, and the Constantia Valley boasts five estates producing some of South Africa’s finest wines.

Surfing Lesson

The pull of the sea might still be strong, however, and if you wish, we can arrange for you to have a surfing lesson at the Roxy Surf School. Dinner will be at The Hussar Grill in Constantia.

Day 6

Morning flight to The Sabi Sands Game Reserve

Today we set off on safari, catching the 10.30am flight to Skuzuza airport, gateway to the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve. There’ll be time to settle into our accommodation at the Lion Sands Game Reserve before a delicious lunch and later, high tea.

Afternoon game drive

In the late afternoon, the creatures of Sabi Sands wake from their slumber and we’ll set off on our first game drive to pay them a visit. Dinner back at Lion Sands will be followed by an in-house Africology massage.

Morning game drive

The wildlife of Sabi Sands wake up at first light so our alarm will be set for 5am so that we don’t miss the action. Some biscuits and coffee will keep us going during the game drive, where we’ll be avidly scouring the bush for the leopards for which Sabi Sands has become well known. We’ll return for breakfast and a chance to reflect.

Bush walk with a guide

Later, we’ll set off for a bush walk; accompanied by a guide and ranger, this is a special opportunity to feel the crunch of the ground beneath our feet and smell the scent of wild animals close by.

Relax in the hotel spa

Afterwards, we’ll return to the lodge where we can relax in the spa or pool before high tea and a late afternoon game drive.

Check into your private tree house

Following dinner, tonight will be spent in one of the lodge’s romantic and very private tree houses.

Day 8

Sabi Sands Game Reserve

Kruger National Park

The routine’s the same today but our destination will be nearby Kruger National Park, South Africa’s premier game reserve. You’ll have a good chance of ticking off the big five: elephant, rhinoceros, leopard, Cape buffalo and lion. Our knowledgeable rangers will ensure you spot even the most cleverly camouflaged creatures.

Bush walk with guide

After breakfast we’ll take another bush walk. It’s a different experience being outside the confines of a vehicle and our senses will be heightened.

Afternoon game drive

After relaxation and refreshments, we’ll once again head off for a game drive. Each one is different, and we’re sure you won’t tire of heading out on safari.

Private yoga session

Evening Yoga and dinner are on the cards when we get back.

Geckoing and whitewater rafting

Today we’ll be doing things a little differently and after breakfast we’re off on an adventure down the Sabie River. In contrast to the serenity of the river as it meanders past the Lodge, upstream the water is more turbulent and perfect for geckoing (water tubing) or whitewater rafting.

Sunset Horse Safari

If you prefer to remain on dry land, take a Sunset Horse Safari. From your equine seat, wind through the beautiful Lowveld trails of the Sabana River, past indigenous bush and pretty fruit orchards. Dinner will be back at the Lodge.

Quad biking through the forest

It’s our last day at Sabi Sands today, a chance to fit in any activity you’ve missed, such as quad biking through the forest.

Check into Summerfield’s Rose Retreat and Spa

We’ll transfer to Summerfield’s Rose Retreat and Spa near Hazyview in time for lunch.

Explore Hazyview

In the afternoon, there’ll be free time to explore Hazyview or relax at the hotel, whose ethos is barefoot luxury. Dinner, drawing its locally-sourced ingredients from seasonal organic producers, will be a treat for the tastebuds.

Travel to Victoria Falls

Our destination today requires a couple of flights, first to Johannesburg and then on to Victoria Falls.

Check into the Royal Chundu Hotel

Our base will be on the Zambian side of the Falls, at Livingstone’s Royal Chundu Hotel, located on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. 30km upstream of the Falls, it’s a tranquil and romantic location. Spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying an included couple’s massage.

Dinner at the Chief’s Boma

Enjoy dinner at the Chief’s Boma, the hotel’s exclusive barbecue area. Feast on local specialities while enjoying a show of Zambian drumming and the talented masked Makishi dancers.

Victoria National Falls Park

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we’ll pay a visit to Victoria Falls National Park. This is arguably the world’s most impressive waterfall and you’ll appreciate its nickname, the Smoke that Thunders, as you peer over the gorge’s edge and watch the spray rise high into the air. It’s truly one of the world’s most impressive natural sights.

Canopy Tour

You’ll enjoy a canopy tour followed by an adrenaline-filled ride on the Gorge Swing by the Zambezi River.

Relax and have dinner at the hotel

Back at the hotel, you’ll enjoy a massage and then a romantic dinner on your private riverfront deck.

Community tour

Today has a local flavour. After breakfast, we’ll head out on a community tour of Mushekwa and Muluka . There, you will gain an insight into the local traditions and customs . As well you’ll learn about the plants and herbs used for traditional medicine and making cooking oil, soap and other necessities.

Sunset river safari

As the afternoon draws to a close, we’ll board our cruiser for a Sunset Safari along the Zambezi. It’s a photogenic spot, and as you watch the sun sink below the horizon you’ll realise it’s a great opportunity for taking photographs. Dinner will be back at hotel.

Picnic on the riverbank

After dawn breaks on our final day, we’ll enjoy a private picnic on the riverbanks.

Flight back home

Checking out, our chauffeur will be waiting to drive you to Victoria Falls airport for your journey back home. Your holiday may have come to an end, but the memories will last a lifetime.
